An Opportunity is the first Objective you create when dealing with a contact; hoping to acquire their business. If successful, this leads to a Project where you work with the Client, providing a product or service.

To start a new Project for this Opportunity, follow the steps below:

  1. Select the Opportunity that you want to convert.
  2. On the far right of the header, there will be a "…" button. Clicking this button will reveal a drop-down menu with the option to create a "New Project from Opportunity."
  3. Once selected, a new Project will be linked to the Opportunity with the same name.

Linked To The Project

  • People
  • Companies
  • Notes
  • Emails
  • Forms

Not Linked To The Project

  • Tasks
  • Appointments
  • Letters
  • Estimates
  • Files
  • Categories & Keywords
  • Extra Fields

Note

An Opportunity represents a potential deal or commitment. While most Opportunities are tied to a single Project, you can create multiple Projects from one Opportunity if you’re delivering multiple services that need to be managed independently.

Tip

The Opportunity and Project are linked, allowing you to easily reference records that are not directly linked to the Project. If there are additional records you’d like to associate with the Project, we recommend using the Opportunity Activity view to identify the records you need. Then, use the Link To action in the contextual menu to connect those records to the Project.
