How to Use Split View & Multitasking Using Daylite

Split View on the Mac, and Multitasking on iPad helps you stay focused by displaying only two apps side by side, eliminating distractions. It allows for smoother multitasking without constantly switching between windows, making it easier to manage workflows and maintain window organization.

 

Split View on the Mac

  • Step 1: Open Daylite
    Open the Daylite app by clicking on it in your Dock or by using Spotlight (press ⌘ + Space and type “Daylite”).
  • Step 2: Make Daylite Full Screen
    Click on the green window control button (the green traffic light button's top left corner of your Daylite window) to make Daylite go full screen.
  • Step 3: Enter Mission Control
    Press Control + Up Arrow on your keyboard. This will bring up Mission Control, where you can see all your open windows and spaces. Daylite, along with other full screen apps will be listed at the top of Mission Control 
  • Step 4: Select the Other App
    Find the thumbnail of the other app you want to use. You should see its window somewhere in the lower portion of Mission Control.
  • Step 5: Drag the App to Split with Daylite
    Click and hold on the other app’s window and drag it up to the top where you see the Daylite space. Drop it in that space. You’ll see an overlay showing how the screen will be split between Daylite and the other app.
  • Step 6: Choose the Split Side
    Once you drag the app, it will automatically go into Split View. You can adjust which side of the screen each app will be on by dragging the divider line between them.

Multitasking on iPad

Apple supports a variety of methods to use two apps side by side. The most common is using the Dock or Spotlight Search

 

  • Step 1: Open Daylite
    Launch Daylite from your Dock or use Spotlight to search for it.
  • Step 2: Find the Other App
    Use the Dock or Spotlight to locate the other app you want to use.
  • Step 3: Drag the Other App to Split View
    Drag the app from the Dock/Spotlight search, to the left or right edge of the Daylite app and release your finger once you see the Multitasking overlay.
  • Step 4: Adjust App Sizes
    Use the middle slider between the two apps to adjust their sizes as needed.
