Reverting to the Legacy Mail Assistant Plugin from the new Mail Assistant Extension

In certain situations, you may need to revert to the Legacy Mail Assistant Plugin. To accomplish this, please follow the instructions outlined below.

Reverting to the Legacy Mail Assistant Plugin is only available on macOS 13 Ventura

  1. Go to Mail > Settings > Extension and turn off the Daylite Mail Assistant Extension

Alternatively, if mail won't open you can go to  > System settings > Privacy & Security > Extensions > turn off the Daylite Mail Assistant Extension.

  2. Choose Mail > Settings > General and click Manage Plug-ins...
    • If the Daylite Mail Assistant is listed, turn on the Mail Assistant and click Apply and Restart Mail

If the Legacy Daylite Mail Assistant is not listed, follow the steps below:

      1. Quit Mail
      2. Open Daylite
      3. Hold down the Command key (on your keyboard) Click the Daylite Menu and select Install Mail Assistant…, then follow the onscreen instructions.

Once installed, Manage Plug-in button will show up and we must re-enable it to make it work.

      4. If you still do not see the Manage Plug-in button, quit and Relaunch Apple Mail while holding down the option key to re-enable the Plugin.

All the steps above can also be found in the video below.
