Add an iCloud Email With an App-Specific Password
An app-specific password is required by Apple that is different from the normal password you use for signing in to iCloud. An app-specific password adds an additional layer of security to ensure that your Apple ID isn't compromised when adding your iCloud account to a third party app. Two-factor authentication (TFA) will need to be enabled first so that you can generate an app-specific password. If two-factor authentication is currently disabled on your iCloud account, please follow along with Apple’s step by step instructions on how to enable it here.
Please note: This is a requirement when adding your iCloud email account to Daylite Mail. An app-specific password can then be generated from the following steps here.
Once you have generated an app-specific password, please follow along with the steps below to add your iCloud email account to Daylite:
- Open Daylite
- Tap My Mail then tap iCloud
Enter in your iCloud email address and the app-specific password that was generated from the link above.
(Please make sure to enter in the dashes as well (e.g myma-ildl-…)
- Tap Next and then tap Save
Now this app-specific password can be used when adding your iCloud account to Daylite Mail.
