How to generate a Console log on Apple's BigSur macOS

The Console application tracks and detects errors and exceptions in multiple applications on your Mac system. It reveals output logs for any application or program running on your machine. This application comes in handy when troubleshooting performance issues with both Daylite and Apple Mail.

To generate a Console output log for Daylite or Apple Mail, please follow along with the steps outlined below. We've also included a video demonstration here to help as a guide if you experience any difficulties:

  1. Quit Daylite and Mail
  2. Launch Console (Applications ==> Utilities)
  3. In the search field, type in Daylite then press Enter
  4. Then type in Mail and press Enter
  5. Along the menubar, choose Action
  6. Enable both Include Info Messages and Include Debug Messages
  7. Click on the Start streaming button in the center of the Console window
  8. Then launch Daylite and Mail
  9. Wait 1 minute, then click once on any output in the list
  10. Then along the menubar, choose Edit ==> Select All
  11. Then choose Edit ==> Copy
  12. Open your TextEdit application and paste the output there
  13. Save and attach the file to your next response please
