How to manually uninstall the Daylite Mail Assistant (DMA) plugin

Please follow these steps below to manually delete the necessary files to fully uninstall the Daylite Mail Assistant (DMA) plugin. If you experience any trouble along the way, please follow along with our video demonstration here:

  1. Quit Daylite
  2. Launch Mail ==> Preferences ==> General ==> Manage Plugins
  3. Remove the checkmark next to DayliteMailAssistant.mailbundle
  4. Quit Mail
  5. Open Finder (on your dock)
  6. Along the menu bar select Go ==> Go to Folder
  7. Copy/Paste the following and click Go: /Library/Mail/
  8. If a “Disabled Bundles” folder is present, move it to the trash
  9. Delete the ‘Daylite’ folder (if you see it there). Then open the “Bundles” folder
  10. Depending on past versions of Daylite installed you may see the files below. If you see any of these, please move them to the trash:
    - DayliteMailAssistant.mailbundle
    - DayliteMailIntegration.mailbundle
    - DMI.mailbundle
  11. Then open Finder and click Go ==> Go to Folder and paste in the following: ~/Library/Mail/Bundles/
  12. If you see any Daylite files or folders here, please trash them
  13. Next, open Finder and click Go ==> Go to Folder and paste in the last path: ~/Library/Mail/DaylitePreferences
  14. Please trash any Daylite related files from this view, then close Finder window and reboot your machine
