Julia Julia

Symptom

Entering a fraction into a time log is displaying an incorrect amount of time in the log.

Why is this problem occurring

This is based on how Billings Pro handles calculations.

Solution

Billings Pro has a standard way of converting fractions. An hour is measured by 60 minutes and a dollar is measured by 100's.

Example:

You have entered 1.25 hours into a time log, however, it is only displaying at 1 hour & 15 minutes.

1.25 hours = 1 hour with a remainder of .25. In order to turn the remainder into a time value, we must multiply it by 60 (minutes). 0.25*60 = 15. We end up with 1 hour & 15 minutes.

If you want to have Billings Pro display your quantities in a decimal format, then you can go to Billings Pro -> Preferences -> General, and change the "Time Display" to Decimal.
