How to Add a Yahoo Email Account to Daylite Mail Using an App-Specific Password

An app-specific password is required by Yahoo that is different from the normal password you use for signing in to Yahoo. An app-specific password adds an additional layer of security to ensure that your Yahoo email account isn't compromised when adding your email account to a third party app.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) will need to be enabled first so that you can generate an app-specific password. If two-factor authentication is currently disabled on your Yahoo account, please follow along with Yahoo’s step-by-step instructions on how to enable it here.

Please note: This is a requirement when adding your Yahoo email account to Daylite Mail. An app-specific password can then be generated from the following steps here.

Once you have generated an app-specific password, please follow along with the steps below to add your Yahoo account to Daylite:

Launch Daylite
Tap My Mail ==> then tap Yahoo
Enter in your Yahoo email address and the app-specific password that was generated from the link above.
(Please make sure to enter in the dashes as well (e.g myma-ildl-…)
Tap Next and then tap Save

Now this app-specific password can be used when adding your Yahoo account to Daylite Mail.
