Daylite Compatibility - macOS Ventura & iOS 16

Josh Josh

We plan to have Daylite ready to go for the official release of the latest operating systems. As Apple's OS development varies from minor incremental updates to significant revolutions in their code, we need to investigate what changes Daylite needs before we can assess compatibility.

We urge customers not to upgrade to the beta release of macOS on their day-to-day computers because Apple's code changes dramatically between updates that can break compatibility with Daylite.

We have immediately begun our investigation by testing and working with Apple. Our goal is to have Daylite compatible with macOS Ventura for Day 1 of its official release.

With that said, we are excited, and we know many people want to try the beta.

Before upgrading your OS, please stay up to date on compatibility by checking the Daylite Compatibility Guide.

FAQ:

Can I use Daylite on Apple’s Beta of macOS Ventura, iOS 16, and iPadOS 16?

As our software does not support beta versions of macOS & iOS, we urge you to not use Daylite with Apple’s beta operating systems.

While using the beta, it is likely that you will experience bugs, crashes, and other issues that interrupt your ability to work. We are working to ensure Daylite is compatible when macOS Ventura, iOS 16, and iPadOS 16 are officially released so before upgrading your operating system please check the Daylite Compatibility Guide.

I’ve Already Updated to macOS Ventura, iOS 16, or iPadOS 16. What should I do?

If you continue to use macOS Ventura, iOS 16, or iPadOS 16Beta, it is likely that you will experience bugs, crashes, and other issues that interrupt your ability to work. Because of this, we do not recommend using Daylite with macOS Ventura, iOS 16, and iPadOS 16 right now.

If you begin to experience issues stopping you from using Daylite, I suggest rolling back your operating system and restoring your data from a backup. For more information on rolling back and restoring from a backup, please get in touch with AppleCare.

As you are running a Public Beta, we welcome your feedback. However, please note feedback or bug fixes may not be addressed right away.

How long will macOS older operating systems be supported?

This largely depends on Apple’s code base and what Apple changes. Periodically we will increase the minimum operating system requirements for security reasons, or allow us to bring you new functionality only supported on newer versions. We encourage all customers to update to the latest versions of macOS and iOS for security and compatibility with our apps.

We are still working on our assessment of the differences in macOS Ventura, iOS 16, and iPadOS 16 and cannot commit to a timeline for when the support of older operating systems has been discontinued. For updates on compatibility, please check the Daylite Compatibility Guide
