Crash on Launch
If Daylite quits when you open it, you can use these steps below to resolve the most common causes of crashing on launch
Note:
Some customers have reported Daylite crashing on launch after updating. If this happens, follow the steps below to install an earlier version of Daylite, then update again to resolve the issue.
Reinstalling Daylite to Resolve Launch Crashes
- Quit Daylite and Mail
- Open Finder and from the menu bar choose Go > Applications
- Locate Daylite.app and drag and drop to the trash
- Download Daylite 2024.41.1
- Move the downloaded file to Applications
- Restart your Mac
- Open Daylite
If Daylite opens normally, update to the latest version by going to Daylite > Check for Updates and follow the onscreen instructions.
If the issues persist continue with the steps below.
Turn Off Auto Login
If you're running Daylite on the latest version of Daylite and macOS, try turnning off auto login. By doing this, you can determine whether the issue is with the App on your system, or if the issue is related to something specific to your database.
To turn off auto login:
This action only affects the current login. Automatic login will resume next time unless repeated.
- Quit Daylite, if it is currently running.
- Hold down the Command (⌘) + Shift (⇧) + Option (⌥) keys.
- Launch Daylite while continuing to hold these keys.
If the issue persists, contact Support. Otherwise, proceed to clear the display state.
Clear Display State
If Daylite opens after turning off auto login, try clearing your display state when logging into Daylite.
To reset Daylite to its default display state:
- Quit Daylite, if it is currently running.
- Hold down the Option (⌥) key.
- Launch Daylite while continuing to hold the key.
If the issue persists, contact Support.
If after following all these steps the issue persists, contact support for more assistance.
